Welcome to my e-portfolio. My name is George Suckarieh, I am Professor of Construction Management at the University of Cincinnati. In my role of professor, I see myself as mentor of students. In the age of high tech, knowledge is available everywhere. The role of the faculty should be that of making students aware of what is available, the tools to get there, and how to use the tools to select the appropriate knowledge and assemble it. Faculty should also foster the drive of the students to search in this wide universe of knowledge.

In summary, after thirty years in higher education, I no longer see my professorial role as that of a person who transfers the knowledge through what I know or what I continuously learn. Rather, I see myself as someone who will help students to learn how to find and assemble the knowledge.
